Scaling to $240k/month in 3 months

It’s been exactly 354 days since my last newsletter. Irresponsible? Maybe. But, there are important reasons I’ll explain, and of course, why it affects you, the reader.

I preface all of this by saying, I’m not offended if you unsubscribe. I would too if I didn’t know what was to come, but if you can make it to the end of this email, I’m fairly confident the smart ones will stay. Anyway, here we go.

“Shiny object syndrome is bad” - basically everyone… except for me.

Shiny object syndrome is necessary. In the world of magic internet money, it’s almost impossible to find a true passion. Something that gives your life meaning, while refusing to sacrifice making money.

That’s why I started this newsletter in the first place — to find something that I could go all in on. If you don’t remember, the last time we spoke I’d been making money by clipping streamers and getting paid by tiktok. Not exactly a noble calling, but it paid some bills on the side.

But from that, I dove down the rabbit hole of TikTok, analyzing each video to I posted. Where the viewership dropped off, what the hook retention was, and what call to action lead me to the best results. I was always chasing one percent better. But, the TikTok rabbit hole quickly became the content creation rabbit hole, and eventually, an organic DTC rabbit hole.

I created content for brands, paying me upwards of $2,000 each for a month, and now in the present day, managing other creators for a brand, growing it from $20,000 a month to over $240k a month in only 3 months.

I was able to stack my skills — content creation, consistent need for learning, and copywriting — to build something amazing. Those skills? All came from shiny object syndrome, and the brand was struggling before I was able to step in and help. That feels awesome.

Here’s how it works:

I vet and hire content creators on a monthly retainer + view bonus structure, then I coach them up to hone their content creation skills. For reference, our peak month we sold over 12,000 units at $30 a piece and our top creator made over $8,000 from 30 videos. Pretty cool.

We’re not even close to done. And neither is this newsletter.

Full DTC deep dives. Everything I’ve done over the past year to help grow this brand, hire the creators, train them, and subsequently scale the brand to where it is now.
